Business faculty performs well

In the current business school ranking of WirtschaftsWoche, the University of Innsbruck is in 15th place. In terms of publications per professor and publications per author, Innsbruck's business school is even ahead of schools like WU Vienna and University of Mannheim.

Every year, WirtschaftsWoche's Business School Ranking identifies all relevant articles on business management topics from the past ten years from almost 860 journals. The ranking is compiled by the Research Institute of the Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich together with the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE). This year, the University of St. Gallen, the Technical University of Munich and the Vienna University of Economics and Business are ahead in the ranking. The University of Innsbruck is in 15th place. Looking at the results in detail, the figures for Innsbruck's business scholars are quite pleasing. In terms of publications per professor and publications per author, the faculty is ahead of the WU Vienna and the University of Mannheim.

Successful business experts

In the ranking of the most research-intensive business scholars, there are four scientists from the University of Innsbruck: Jürgen Huber (rank 81), Michael Kirchler (146), Martin Messner (227) and Andreas Eckhardt (247). Among the researchers under 40 years of age, Julia Hautz from the Department of Strategic Management, Marketing and Tourism is ranked 113th. In the lifetime achievement ranking, the entire scientific career to date is taken into account. Here, with Andreas Eckhardt, Kurt Matzler, Jürgen Huber, Michael Kirchler and Johann Füller, five scientists are among the best 200 business economists in the German-speaking world.
