About the person
Christoph Pelger has been Professor of Financial Accounting at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation at the Faculty of Business and Management at the University of Innsbruck since March 2015. Previously, Christoph Pelger completed his habilitation in January 2015 at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. During his habilitation period, he spent a research stay at the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford. Christoph Pelger was awarded a doctorate in 2011 at the University of Cologne, where he had previously completed his diploma studies in business administration. During his studies and doctorate he was a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
In his research and teaching, Christoph Pelger primarily deals with topics of international accounting standards (IFRS). His research projects look at institutional aspects of introducing and enforcing international accounting standards as well as analysis of decision-making processes of the private standard setter in this field. Research work by Christoph Pelger has been published in recognized international journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Accounting and Business Research, Abacus and Critical Perspectives on Accounting. For the transfer of knowledge into practice, Christoph Pelger also regularly publishes articles in practice-oriented German-language specialist journals.
