Post-doc position in quantum photonics

Side excitationFor our project on light sources based on individual semiconductor quantum dots we are looking for a post-doc with experience in nano-quantum optics, ideally of single quantum emitters. This experience should be documented by a strong publication record.

Innsbruck offers a great and competitive scientific environment in the fields of quantum optics and quantum information. The Photonics group focuses on using semiconductor nanostructures for quantum optics and quantum communications tasks.

The position is university-funded, comes with a four year contract and involves some teaching duty. Teaching in the MSc program can be done in English. A willingness to learn some German is helpful to function well in the Innsbruck environment.

The official job announcement is mostly in German therefore a complete translation is provided below, for information only. While the announcement quotes a rather short deadline, we will keep the position open until it is filled.

Please apply online with a cover letter that includes a brief motivation/research statement as well as your CV and the contact information for at least two references. You do not need to provide reference letters upfront, but if you have them already you are welcome to attach them.

The University of Innsbruck is hoping to increase the number of female scientists at all levels therefore we encourage women to apply for this position. Our top priority is excellence in research, but beyond that female candidates will be given preference.
