Adam Štěch
(born in Děčín in 1986) has been active in the fields of design, architecture, fashion and graphic arts as a theoretician, journalist and curator since 2006. He is editor of Prague-based design magazine Dolce Vita and contributor for several international magazines including Wallpaper, Cool Hunting, Damn, A10, Mark, Frame and much more. He teaches at Scholastika in Prague.
Prague-based architecture historian and curator of Elements exhibition Adam Štěch will talk about his long-time research and documentation of modernist architecture and interiors. During the lecture he will present some of the most exciting and authentic 20th century interiors all around the world, designed as total works of art (Gesamtkunstwerk). He will trace the idea of complex design approach from Art Nouveau through interwar Modernism to postwar Modernism, Brutalism and radical tendencies.
The lecture will be held in English.
