General Information for Course Registration
The university courses within the scope of the continuing education at the University of Innsbruck are carried out as hybrid courses, taking into account the Corona-related safety requirements of the federal government and the University of Innsbruck.
Please inform about the currently valid safety requirements at:
https://www.uibk.ac.at/newsroom/informationen-zum-coronavirus.html.de#coronavirus
A significant part of the safety precautions is your own responsibility:
- Pay attention to the general hygiene measures and distance rules.
- Don’t attend events with physical attendance if you have symptoms or feel sick.
Our instructors usually use OpenOlat, the learning management system of the University of Innsbruck (link: https://lms.uibk.ac.at) and an adapted version of the web conference system BigBlueButton (BBB) as virtual classroom. You will be informed by the course director or the lecturer should another tool be used.
Technical requirements for online courses:
- stable broadband internet connection
- PC / MAC, mobile devices or smartphones with common requirements. When using older iOS devices (iPad / iPhone with iOS older than version 12.0) there may be restrictions (problems with screen sharing or when using the microphone and webcam).
- headset (microphone with headphones) for better sound quality
- optional: webcam
We recommend using the following browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge (based on Chromium).

In this case the period is 14 days from the conclusion of the contract. A cancellation form is attached to the confirmation of admission, but it is not mandatory to use it. If the registration is made within 14 days before the start of the course, the participants expressly consent to the start of the programme before the expiration of the revocation period. No reimbursement of the course fee will be made to participants who cancel the course programme prematurely for reasons that lie within their area. The same applies to participants who are excluded from a programme due to disregard of essential regulations (e.g. serious or repeated violations of the house rules, Covid-19 safety regulations or good scientific practice). There is no refund for parts of the course fee in the event of a replacement of a course lecturer. A refund of parts of the fee for the course is also excluded if there are minor changes (such as change in date or location, partial changeover to virtual lectures) that are factually justified. If dates are postponed during the current semester, no reimbursement can be made for expenses incurred (e.g. travel expenses, parking fees, costs for lost time) if these are not due to intent or gross negligence on the part of the University of Innsbruck or the lecturer.
7. Proof of success and confirmation of participation
