Objectives
Graduates
- are able solve specific problems in Data Science,
- have a thorough understanding of the mathematical foundations of Data Science,
- have an overview of state-of-the-art methods for supervised and unsupervised learning,
- can perform data science tasks using appropriate software systems,
- can present results of a data science project to experts in the field as well as to end users in a clear way.

Target group
Persons
- who are interested in analytic questions,
- with a academic background in natural sciences, engineering or economics,
- basic affinity for mathematics and IT.

Requirements
- completion of a pertinent Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s Programme
- Bachelor’s programme must correspond to a minimum of 180 ECTS-Credits

Admission Requirements
The University Preparation Programme is open to persons, who have been admitted to a regular university study programme by the rectorate of the University of Innsbruck under the condition that they
(a) pass the supplementary examination to prove sufficient knowledge of the German language and
(b) possibly one or several supplementary examinations in other subjects before they start the regular university study programme.
