About the Symposium
The symposium explores how schools and education systems are responding to restrictions and bans on digital media, with a particular focus on smartphones and social media. It examines the implications of these measures for media education, digital competencies, and pedagogical practice.
The programme will feature a keynote lecture by Prof. Rob Cover (RMIT University, Melbourne), addressing experiences with smartphone and social media bans in Australia. The programme will also include international research presentations, academic talks, and discussion sessions bringing together scholars from different countries, disciplines, and academic contexts.

Registration and Participation
Participation is free of charge.
The symposium will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either in person or online. Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and other personal expenses.

Catering
Coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the event. Lunch will be arranged through Futterkutter.
To facilitate the organization of catering, participants will be asked to indicate their preferred lunch option in advance. Information about the available menu options will be sent by email following registration.
