Study and teaching

The core task of studying and teaching is to address the perspective of social inequality with a focus on the economic, ideology-critical and political foundations of upbringing, education and socialisation as well as their significance for educational practice. The focus of teaching is on the categorical treatment of basic social and educational science concepts and the examination of ideologies of anti-Semitism, racism and sexism. Theoretical points of reference are the materialist analysis of capitalist social formation, political concepts of education and critical social psychology.

On the Bachelor's degree programme in Educational Sciences, the teaching and research area offers lectures and seminars as part of compulsory module 11 "Critical Political Education".

In the Master's degree programmes in Educational Sciences, the teaching and research area is represented in the elective modules (WM) 2 "Body Relations in Education, Training and Culture", WM 3 "The Unconscious in Education, Training and Culture", WM 4 "Migration and Education" and in the compulsory module 5 "Seminar on the Master's thesis".

Theses can be written in both the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.
