Study and Teaching

The following topics are dealt with in the lectures, seminars and methodological events:

• Social generational situations and generational relationships
• Social change in the areas of family, upbringing, education and learning
• Socialisation, upbringing, education and learning in the family and school
• Pedagogical intergenerational relationships and intergenerational exchange
• Intergenerational transmission of education and upbringing
• Learning and educational processes in adolescence and young adulthood in different contexts
• Relationship developments in the course of life
• Shaping and acting in life courses
• Teaching and (lifelong) learning in the knowledge society
• Political education, democracy education, peace and environmental education
• Professional behaviour in educational contexts such as schools, youth education and child and youth services
• Methods of generational, youth, life course and educational research

In the Bachelor's degree programme, the content of the teaching and research area is offered in compulsory module 3 and elective module 4. In addition, corresponding seminars in compulsory module 15 can be completed with a Bachelor's thesis.

In the Master's degree programme, the content of the teaching and research area is taught in elective module 5. Master's theses can be written as part of compulsory module 5.

Advanced students on Bachelor's, Master's and PhD programmes also have the opportunity to take part in a summer seminar organised by the Teaching and Research Department at the University of Innsbruck.
