"Socio-economic Status and Living Situation of Care Leavers in Austria"

Cooperation project of the Universities of Innsbruck & Klagenfurt, with Prof Dr Stephan Sting & Dr Thomas Maran, until 2021.

Care leavers are disadvantaged in many countries and in many ways in terms of their participation in society. Compared to the population as a whole, they are less educated, more often unemployed, precariously employed and less well paid. They are more likely to experience poverty and poor health, and their life satisfaction is lower. Previous research has focused primarily on the care leaving phase and related challenges in the transition to independent living. This research is going to analyse the life situation of care leavers between the ages of 20-29 in Austria.

"Model region education Zillertal"

Cooperation project between the Department of Teacher Education and School Research and the Department of Educational Science at the University of Innsbruck, until 2022.

The aim of the project is to analyse regional structures of school development in the field of formal education. The second phase of the project focuses on the educational pathways of pupils from the Zillertal region, in particular the transition from lower secondary level to middle and upper secondary level schools.

"LifE - Life courses from late childhood to advanced adulthood"

The LifE study is an interdisciplinary co-operation project between the Universities of Potsdam, Zurich and Innsbruck with the aim of explaining the life courses and differential development paths from adolescence to adulthood of over 1,300 people. "SoFaB-Tyrol - framework conditions and effectiveness of social pedagogical family support in Tyrol"

This research project examines the resources, working methods and framework conditions of SPFH in Tyrol. To this end, managers and specialists at independent and official SPFH organisations in Tyrol are surveyed using a quantitative questionnaire. Project management: W. Hagleitner

"SoFa-Tirol - Investigating the effectiveness and efficiency of socio-educational family support in Tyrol."

The research project uses problem-centred interviews within the help constellation, specifically from the perspectives of child and youth welfare services, professionals and families, to investigate the framework conditions, professional requirements, working methods and quality criteria of social pedagogical family support in Tyrol. "Predictors for the mental health of Austrian care leavers aged between 20-29 years"

The project analyses the effects of structural, social and educational resources in the course of biographies in residential educational support on the mental health of care leavers in young adulthood. Co-operation project with the Universities of Innsbruck, Klagenfurt and Hildesheim. Project team: F. Berger, M. Groinig, W. Hagleitner, T. Maran, S. Roßnagl, S. Sting.
