As part of an open conference, there will be presentations and discussions on all current developments in economic research. Among others, we will welcome Matthew Rabin (Harvard), Ulrike Malmendier (Stanford), Ernst Fehr (Zurich), and Luzia Reisch (Cambridge) to Innsbruck, and we look forward to seeing our alumnus Martin Kocher again in his new role as Governor of the Austrian National Bank at a reception hosted by the National Bank at Congress Innsbruck. The conference is made possible through a collaboration between the University of Innsbruck and the Austrian National Bank, the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the Institute for Advanced Studies, WiFo, and numerous German research institutes (Berlin Social Science Center, Leibniz Information Center for Economics in Hamburg, Deutsche Bundesbank, CESifo, etc.). The conference will open at the BTV Forum at the invitation of the Bank of Tyrol and Vorarlberg. After nearly 25 years, the faculty is delighted to once again host this largest annual conference of economists in the German-speaking world and to showcase Innsbruck not only as a wonderful conference venue but also as an important hub for economic research. Details about the conference are available at https://www.socialpolitik.de/de/termin/annual-conference-2026.
