Alexander Steiner successfully defended his doctoral thesis, entitled , ‘Semantic Typology of Cardinal Direction Terms: A Historical and Cognitive Approach’ on 23 September 2026. Faculty members Irene Madreiter and Ivo Hajnal, as well as Katharina Zipser from the Department of Linguistics were part of the examining commitee.
