Current research
I am interested in the influence of environmental stress such as osmotic changes, low oxygen or nutrient availability on the acclimation and homeostasis of primary cells and cell lines. One aim is the exact characterization of reactive oxygen species (ROS) emergence in response to hypoxic stress at the interface of cell metabolism and redox balance. I study these cell physiological responses with modern live cell imaging and measurement methods.
