Submission of academic theses via LFU:online

 Step 1: Embargo, partial publication

• The title of the academic paper is taken from the submission form. Please check the title and correct it if necessary (Edit).
• Is a partial publication necessary? If so, select the ‘ Guideline’ under which you wish to submit the paper and specify the sections that must not be published, along with the reason (mandatory).
• Is an embargo on access to the thesis necessary? If so, select the embargo period (in years) from the submission date and state the reason (mandatory). An academic thesis may be blocked for a maximum of 5 years.
• Upload your academic thesis to the Turnitin plagiarism detection software and save the email confirming the upload as a PDF file. This file is required as part of the document upload process for submission.

• Click on ‘Save & continue’

• Add the assessors. By default, the assessors specified when the thesis was registered is/are imported from VIS:online:

• additional assessors can be added using the ‘Plus’ icon

• Click on ‘Save & continue’

• Please complete the required details regarding the academic work. This step replaces the ULB registration form.

• Under ‘Details of registrants / supervisors / reviewers’, further individuals can be added. Please also select here whether the supervisor is acting solely as a reviewer or as both a supervisor and a reviewer (role).

• Provide the abstract, licensing details, keywords and languages

• Click on ‘Continue’

• Upload the PDF file of your academic paper and the confirmation of the paper to the Turnitin plagiarism detection software. If you have a partial publication, the short version of the paper must also be uploaded.
• Check the title of your academic paper once more. This is your last chance to correct or amend it.
• Read the instructions on electronic publication carefully and confirm the required declarations in order to submit your paper.

• Click on “Submit”
