My research has a focus on the taxonomy, morphology and behaviour of spiders, in particular of comb-footed spiders. My ethological interests mainly concern sexual behaviour. Starting from my taxonomic studies I frequently work in the fields of biogeography and faunistics. Many of my study organisms are Alpine, including Alpine endemics. Macro- and microphotography are another area of expertise of mine. Apart from arachnids also selected groups of other arthropods are considered.

Research Topics

  • Alpine endemism
  • Biogeography and faunistics
  • Morphology
  • (Sexual) behaviour
