Extending my knowledge of applied molecular ecology, I am currently involved in research on biogeographic attributes of a European harvester ant species. Our aim is to elucidate the impact of habitat fragmentation on this ant species in Lower Austria. Including morphological analysis of gynes, as well as covering Wolbachia infection status, we want to achieve a set of multimethodological results to evaluate our hypotheses.
