I am a master student at the University of Innsbruck, where I study Ecology and Biodiversity. For my thesis, I investigate the effects of tetracycline, an antibiotic frequently used in host-endosymbiont research to cure insects from Wolbachia bacteria, on the fly Drosophila nigrosparsa. The aim of the study is to understand such effects to better plan and interpret future studies. For this purpose, the microbiome, the wing morphology, and the locomotion of adult animals and larvae are analysed.
