For me, as a biologist, every part of biological science is interesting, but my particular focuses lie on ecology and evolution, especially of Drosophila nigrosparsa, and on the biology of ants.

In my PhD project, I’m investigating a possible rapid evolution and the adaptation of the alpine fly Drosophila nigrosparsa to climate warming combining laboratory and field experiments with molecular genetics.

Research Topics

  • Alpine biology
  • Climate-change biology
  • Experimental evolution
  • Rapid evolution
