NeoLatina 2026
Alte, neue Autoritäten im Dienst der Selbstdarstellung neulateinischer Autor*innen
Early modern scholars, especially those belonging to marginalised groups – female authors, members of religious minorities or learned people writing at the periphery –, used innovative and sometimes surprising strategies of legitimisation and authorisation on the textual and pragmatic level to present themselves as scholars and their position in the res publica literaria.
The NeoLatina conferences have been held annually since 1999, since 2013 in turn by the Universities of Würzburg, Freiburg i.Br. and Innsbruck. They are dedicated to Neo-Latin authors and topics, which are the subject of the research on site.
