Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France (UPMC)

Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC)The University Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) is the largest scientific and medical complex in France, active in many fields of research with scope and achievements at the highest level, as demonstrated by the many awards regularly won by UPMC researchers, and the many international partnerships it maintains across all five continents. Several university rankings have put UPMC at the 1st place in France and 8th place in Europe. It has over 125 laboratories, ca. 31,000 students and more than 5,800 teaching academics and researchers.

The department of "Physiologie Cellulaire et Moléculaire des Plantes (Plant Cell Molecular Physiology)" has 60 members, in 6 research groups, all working on plant cell signalling in response to environmental cues or during plant development. The group "Seed germination and dormancy" is investigating the cellular and molecular events that control these processes. It has a very long-standing experience in seed physiology and is internationally recognized for its expertise in this research area.
