Dear colleagues and friends,

the meeting will combine invited and proposed presentations. It is supposed to be a forum to present work on various aspects of diatom investigations (e.g. taxonomy, biodiversity, evolution and systematic, biogeography, ecology, biomonitoring in present and past times). It is intended to integrate student and amateur contributions into reports from actual applied and fundamental research project with a focus on Central Europe. The invited speakers are E. Cox, S. Juggins, H. Lange-Bertalot, D. Mann, E. Morales, A. Poulickova, K. Sabbe.

We encourage primarily presentations to the following topics

  • Stability vs variability of diatom taxa and life cycles
(from nature to culture and related molecular aspects)
  • Paleolimnology / paleoecology

Additional proposed contributions (oral and poster) are welcome and will be adopted from the proposed titles and abstracts into the program according to the given temporal and spatial capacities.

We especially intend encourage student presentations which will be nominated for a student award selected by a jury of experts and student participants from the presentations during the conference (oral and poster).

As in previous CE-Diatom meetings the abstracts will be printed in a volume (accessible by ISBN code) printed prior to the meeting.
