Welcome to the
Botanical Garden of the Department of Botany!

The Botanical Garden Innsbruck was established in 1793 and is maintained by the Department of Botany of the University of Innsbruck.  Our collections of living plants serve for scientific research and conservation and for display and education as well.  More than 7,000 species of plants are cultivated.

The most famous part of our garden is the Rock Garden representing plants from the high mountains of Europe, Asia, New Zealand and North America. You can learn about medicinal and useful plants or about tropical rain forest and subtropical arid regions in the Green houses as well. Finally you can go for a relaxing walk through the Arboretum.

We look forward to your visit!
