BIPESCO-Team Service
Due to our many years of experience as scientists and university teachers at the Institute of Microbiology at the Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck, the BIPESCO team Innsbruck in cooperation with the Landwirtschaftskammer Tirol offers numerous services from our research focus on mycology, phytopathology and biological plant control.
Our comprehensive knowledge of fungi, especially moulds, will be made available to all interested persons/partners. This takes place in form of a consultation page, as well as by means of special offers on the topics of quality control, risk assessment and registration of fungal biocontrol agents (e.g. mycoparasites, entomopathogenic fungi and endophytes), detection of fungal persistence in the field, detection of plant diseases in special crops (ESCA, soil-borne fungi) and diagnosis of fungi.
In addition to standardised test procedures, we have also established numerous new methods (BIPESCO, RAFBCA and REBECA standards) to evaluate the efficacy of fungal products in the laboratory and in the field, but also to prove the safety of these fungal active substances for humans and the environment ("eco-controlling" and "risk assessment").
The BIPESCO team Innsbruck works closely together with companies (e.g. MYKON), but also with authorities and research institutions. Being close related to stakeholder groups and the associated international contacts allow us to always be at the cutting edge of research. Our most important concern is to respond as flexibly as possible to the needs of interested parties, but especially also of future project partners.
The EU project BIPESCO was declared by the EU Commission as a "story of success" in autumn 2004 and published in a booklet of the European Commission.
