The University of Innsbruck represents the Austrian universities in the Hub and – in collaboration with the Department of Education at Aarhus University (Denmark) – coordinates the research network Workplace Learning, which has to date published two edited volumes and carried out an international study focused on workplace learning. The ASEM-LLL Hub receives funding from the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in Singapore as well as Aarhus University (Denmark). Innsbruck’s participation is additionally supported by ASEA-UNINET.

EDI: Employee-Driven Innovation Network

Since 2007 the EDI Network has been dedicated to the development of research-based knowledge on employee-driven innovation processes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). EDI sees itself as an exchange platform for researchers, social partners, companies, labour organisations and educational institutions that are interested in and specifically support such innovation processes. The network’s activities are based on the premise that all workplaces have resources available to individual employees as well as to the mutual relationships and networks. However, the resources are not always visible, which means that neither employees nor employers can benefit from the hidden innovation potential inherent in the workforce.
