Confidential counsellor for disabled people at the Leopold-Franzens-University of Innsbruck
The confidential counsellors for disabled people are elected worker representatives, who represent economic, social, cultural and health interests of eligible disabled at their workplace in agreement with the workers council.
Responsibilities:
They are described in the Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act. They include the participation in the adaptation of workplaces for disabled and in questions concerning job matters, education and further education of disabled employees, consultation and support for disabled co-workers, seriously ill co-workers or those who had an accident, and mandate of representation in order to ensure compliance with the special regulations of the employment contract of disabled persons.
If more than 5 persons who are recognised as egilible disabled according to the Disabled Persons Employment Act are permanently employed in a firm they can elect a confidential counsellor for disabled people and deputy out of their group.
