Abstract

For a long-term and sustainable improving of competitiveness of the Tiroler construction industry, an international highly dynamic development of digitalization of the construction industry is necessary, through an drive of innovation and sustainable products and services. Tirol is taking a leading role here, which is continued and strengthened by the BIM2IndiLight project. The thematical topic comfort, overall-energy-efficiency and lighting in the BIM-based planning and commissioning addresses the currently relevant goals with a high level of innovation.
The goal of the BIM2IndiLight project is to extend the industrial research, besides the actual existing data structures and tools for an integral BIM-planning-process, by adding the lighting field, so it is possible to the architects to do a coupled lighting and thermal requirement simulation in the early phase of planning. On that base there should be also principles worked out, for an individual workspace lighting based on daylight and artificial light regulation.

Activities in the Project

All lighting requirements (so coupled thermal and building-physical) parameters should be identified, get integrated in the Merkmalserver and be available for practice in BIM in the future. Developing the Know-how reconstruction solutions for small buildings .
To research and develop the necessary interfaces between the BIM model and the linked dynamic calculation and also their systematic .
For the future realization of optimized individual lighting at workspace, based on the BIM-project information, their should be found suitable controlling and regulation algorithms, which consider the inconsistent requirements of non-glaring, high daylight autonomy, avoidance of summer overheating and optimized efficient use of artificial light .
Improving of the international competitiveness in the frame of digitalization of the construction industry.

Key responsibilities of the Universität Innsbruck

Within the framework of the research activities the applicant is working on the holistic energy efficiency of the building. Due to the successful project realization, the Know-how of the linked lighting and thermal simulation and also the efficient lighting of the day and artificial light field will be strengthened.
The developed data models, interfaces and methods allows the research partner UIBK EEB, the future calculation of the energetic, ecological and economical saving potentials of innovative lighting systems and the controlling of general contribution schemes of buildings and/or apartments. The results lead to important knowledge of the effects to technical building equipment and will be used in the future researches and teaching.
