PhD Position in Theoretical Astroparticle Physics

The Theoretical High-Energy Astrophysics group at Innsbruck University (Austria) has an open-
ing for a PhD appointment in the field of theoretical astroparticle physics (limited to 3-years
duration). Candidates who are familiar with the field of high-energy astrophysics and with an
interest in numerical simulations of high-energy radiation and particle transport are encouraged
to apply. The position is part of a FWF-ARRS funded research project.
Applicants are expected to hold a diploma, master or equivalent university degree in physics
(astro-, astroparticle- or particle physics) or astronomy, and have experience with numerical and
analytical studies of nonthermal processes in astroparticle physics. Good knowledge of a high-
level programming language is required, experience with using numerical and/or Monte Carlo
methods would be an asset. The successful candidate has a good spoken and written command
of the English language and good communication skills.
We aim to fill this position as soon as possible. The earliest starting date is April, 1st, 2019; a
later starting date this year is possible.
Applications should include a CV, a statement of research interest, a list of publications, copies
