O.Univ. Prof. Dr. Manfred Markus - ICAMET

ICAMET has been concerned with five parts:

  • The Middle English Prose Corpus (c. 1100-1500)
  • The Innsbruck Letter Corpus (1386-1688)
  • ESP (English for Specific Purposes)
  • SPE (Special Englishes)
  • Varia

Generally speaking, the Prose Corpus comprises 129 full-text data-bases. The Innsbruck Letter Corpus has 260 letters, and VARIA is our umbrella term for all kinds of Middle English and Early Modern English leftover texts, as well as translations and normalised versions.

The Manual of ICAMET (author: Manfred Markus, Innsbrucker Beiträge zur Kulturwissenschaft, Anglistische Reihe 7, Wien: Braumüller-Verlag, 1999, to be ordered from your local bookshop or from Universität Innsbruck, Institut für Anglistik, Innrain 52, A6020 Innsbruck, Fax +43-512-507-2882 [price: 14,50 EUR]) gives evidence of the texts and sources of the files, as well as the principles of compiling and encoding.

For the other projects and for details, including the availability of the corpora, please see the ICAMET pages in the Department's PROJECTS section.
