Claudia Pellegrini
... grew up in the trilingual region of South Tyrol speaking German, Italian and two dialects in her family. After graduating at the University of Verona with highest honours in German, English, Italian and Spanish literature, she became an English teacher at a secondary school in her hometown Merano where she taught youngsters but also adults for 30 years.
As a PhD student in linguistics and media studies at the University of Innsbruck she worked for the European MATEL project (Metalinguistic Awareness Tests in European Languages) as well as for the MELA project (Multilingual Ladin).
Her research interest focuses on multilingual language acquisition and language development in adults.
