Applied signal, data and image analysis

signal analysis 1

Signal analysisMain focus of the workgroup is the imaging computer science which consitsts of the information technology branches image acquisition, the processing and analysis of graphical data (image analysis) and the production of measurements (data extraction) from graphical data.

Signal analysis techniques and data-mining are a further main emphasis of this group. This enables the description and characterization of periodical physiological systems (e.g. cardiac function, muscle movement) and its dynamic qualities on the basis of frequency analyses. One understands the application of (statistical mathematical) methods by data-mining on a data stock with the aim of the pattern recognition. Main fields of application of these techniques are the non-invasive measuring of heart performance, circulation and breathing parameters as well as the quantification of swimming motions in aquatic model organisms, such as Danio rerio, Medaka and Xenopus.
