Plasma and Energy Physics

Research and teaching by the Plasma and Energy Physics Group at the University of Innsbruck covers fundamental topics of general plasma theory, modelling and simulation of both space and laboratory plasmas, applications to fusion energy with magnetic confinement, and contextual studies in energy systems.

The "pep" group is part of the Institute for Theoretical Physics and participates in the University's "Schwerpunkt Ionen- und Plasmaphysik / Angewandte Physik". The "pep group consists of two divisions headed by K. Schöpf and S. Kuhn.

Associate members of the "pep" group are Emerited Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Cap and Honorary Professor Dr. Karl Lackner (Max-Planck-Institut for Plasma Physics, Garching, Germany).
