Date of birth: 28.04.1976
Christian Stadler is a postdoctoral researcher at Innsbruck University School of Management, Austria. He received his Masters in History and Theology and his first class honors Ph.D. in Business History at the University of Innsbruck. After the completion of his PhD he worked for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in 2003 where he joined a team advising one of Europe's leading oil companies. This allowed him to apply some of the capabilities he developed while working on a number of projects for Shell. Since his stint as a consultant he has taught at the Innsbruck University School of Management. He was also a visitor to Harvard Business School in 2005.
His work lies at the interface of strategic management and business history. One strand of his research and teaching focuses on the long-term development of large European corporations. Another strand of his work is concerned with foundational issues in business strategy, particularly work on the topics of competitive advantage, knowledge transfer and the relationship between strategy and structure.
