Research
Eight research groups concentrate on the ecology and evolution of aquatic organisms under anthropogenic influence and climate change. Besides molecular adaptation this approach includes organisms and populations to communities. ILIM’s research is primarily being supported by the University of Innsbruck, the Austrian Science Fund, the Commission of the European Union and several governmental institutions in Austria. For the latter, the Institute conducts consulting and applied research projects.
The research results are published in international journals and internal reports (Publications). The Annual Report (partly in German) summarizes the research and teaching activities of the Institute. Since 2013 the activities are available at the Research Documentation Database of the University of Innsbruck. The Institute’s performance was excellently evaluated in 2010 by a team of international experts at longer intervals (Evaluation Report 2010).
