Expect the Unexpected

Major support for the University of Innsbruck’s research and teaching mission comes from innsbruck university press (iup), the University’s publishing house founded in 2005 by Rector Märk. The scientific but also cultural works published here reflect iup’s ambitious comprehensive program that ensures the interdisciplinary presentation of current topics as well as the authenticity and long-term availability of research results. The approximately 810 titles on stock in 2022 are joined each year
by approximately 60 new publications. iup is a member of Arbeitsgemeinschaft Universitätsverlage (AG Universitätsverlage). The working group is an association of university presses, publishing services and platforms, which are connected to an academic institution and offer professional publishing services, in German speaking countries. The membership criteria include especially quality assurance according to scientific standards and the support of Open Access. iup’s edition laurin has been successful in positioning itself for works of fiction. innsbruck university press also promotes open access and by providing publications that are free of charge and license-free assists researchers develop their international presence and promote knowledge transfer.
