Applied Physics

The “Applied Physics” group (incl. the Christian Doppler Laboratory for “Active Implantable Systems”) is working in the field of cochlear implants. Current research activities include: Development and evaluation of stimulation strategies for improved music perception and improved perception of tonal languages (fine structure strategies), hardware concepts towards a totally implantable cochlear implant, radio-frequency systems for transcutaneous transmission of data and energy, systems for the assessment of compound action potentials, effects on cochlear implants in MRI-systems.
