| The Association for Terminology
and Knowledge Transfer was founded in Trier in 1986. It is registered at
the district court in Trier in accordance with German law. The nonprofit-making
character of the association has been acknowledged by the tax office in
Trier. The Association for Terminology and Knowledge Transfer is a national
and international forum for the promotion of knowledge and technology transfer
by means of research and development with regard to technological procedures
for special language communication on the basis of terminological procedures
and data.
As such it is a part of the Global Group
of Terminology Organisations.
Particular attention is paid to the computer-specific representation,
maintenance and adaptation of information and knowledge. The task of the
Association for Terminology and Knowledge Transfer includes the organization
or co-organization of symposia, congresses and workshops, for example the
"International Congress on Terminology and Knowledge engineering" (1987
and 1990 in Trier, 1993 in Cologne, and 1996 in Vienna). About 350 scientists,
developers and users from the fields of terminology, computer science,
documentation, computer linguistics and related subjects participated in
each of these congresses. |
Die Gesellschaft für Terminologie und Wissenstransfer
e.V. wurde 1986 in Trier gegründet und ist beim Amtsgericht Trier
als Verein eingetragen. Die Gemeinnützigkeit der Gesellschaft ist
vom Finanzamt Trier anerkannt. Die Gesellschaft für Terminologie und
Wissenstransfer e.V ist ein nationales und internationales Forum
- im Rahmen des 'Global Group'
- zur Förderung des Wissens- und Technologietransfers durch Erforschung und Entwicklung
geeigneter informationstechnischer Verfahren für die fachsprachliche
Kommunikation auf der Basis terminologischer Methoden und Daten.
Dabei wird der rechnerinternen Repräsentation, Pflege und Anpassung von
Information und Wissen besondere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Zu den Aufgaben
für die Gesellschaft für Terminologie und Wissenstransfer gehört
die Veranstaltung bzw. Mitveranstaltung von Kongressen, Symposien und Workshops.
Beispiel hierfür ist der "International Congress on Terminology and
Knowledge Engineering", der bisher viermal (1987 und 1990 in Trier, 1993
in Köln, 1996 in Wien) durchgeführt wurde und an dem etwa 300
Wissenschaftler, Entwickler und Anwender aus dem Bereich Terminologie,
Informatik, Dokumentation, Computerlinguistik und verwandten Gebieten teilnahmen. |
