Governance and Civil Society (GCS)
Mission Statement
Governance and Civil Society (GCS) is a research centre
located within the Faculty of Poltical Science and Sociology. GCS understands
the two key terms – governance and civil society – not as dichotomous, rather each emphasizes
the interdependency of the political and social; of rule and citizenship. The
research centre aims at fostering all kinds of research activities in the
field, in particular by arranging a seminar series, supporting junior faculty
in their publishing efforts and by enhancing visibility.
GCS is an active member of the research platform
