High voltage dry cell composed of 4000
single elements.
One element consists of a thin piece of
paper covered at one side with silver and
at the other side with manganese oxid
[MnO2], as electrolyte simply
water was used with organic additives. The
circular elements with a diameters ranging
from 1 to 6 cm were stapled in a glass
tube, which was coated inside with
sealing-wax. The emf is approximately 0.8
volts / element, currents in the range of
microamps. |
