One week prior to the opening match of the EURO 2008, the European Football Championship, the University of Innsbruck (Austria) hosts an international conference on the Economics and Psychology of Football. The objective of this conference is to bring together scholars from around the world who are conducting research on judgment and decision making in football.
Scientific contributions to the conference analyze, for instance, the strategic behaviour of coaches and teams, referee behaviour, judgment and decision making of agents, fallacies of coaches and players, betting and prediction markets, labour markets in football as well as team performance and investor behaviour.
The conference features keynote speeches by Stefan Szymanski (Cass Business School, City University London) and Urs Meier (former FIFA referee, Switzerland).
