American Corner Innsbruck

Public Speaking, Diplomacy and Cross-Cultural Business Etiquette Workshop

    Friday, March 28
    Seminarraum 19, SoWi

Business Development Manager EMEA at PeroxyChem, Mr. Michael Mueller, shared his hands-on knowledge of cross-cultural business etiquette, focusing on the psychological differences between US and Germanic cultures that frequently lead to misunderstandings and conflicts when doing cross-border business. He introduced the workshop participants to some potentially winning strategies to tackle these challenges, which led to a lively discussion about personal experiences and anecdotes.

Ms. Marlene Nice, Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy Vienna, provided insight into her work as a Foreign Service Officer and the kinds of traits and skills that are required of those who aspire to a career in Foreign Service. She also shared some tips and tricks for public speaking and diplomacy, which will prove useful for any job or situation in life.

The workshop was co-organized by the U.S. Embassy Vienna, Innsbruck Model United Nations Club (MUN) and the American Corner Innsbruck. Looking forward to many more collaborations like this in the future!
